All first editions and first impressions, in very good condition or a little better and signed by the author to adhesive bookplates loosely laid in; one of which is double-signed 'John le Carré' and 'David Cornwell' (the author's real name). Rare thus. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy: First edition, first impression (Hodder and Stoughton, 1974). Double-signed by the author to an adhesive bookplate loosely laid in. Four square and small areas of adhesive residue to the front endpaper caused by the removal of a bookplate; very minor knock to spine head with some of the usual fading to top-stain. The original and unclipped dust jacket has some rubbing to corners and extremities; spine ends a little abraded, mainly at head; fading to spine panel, as is common. The Honourable Schoolboy: First edition, first impression (Hodder and Stoughton, 1977). Signed by the author to a bookplate loosely laid in. A couple of minor bumps to top corner of upper and lower boards and to top edge of lower board; hint of pushing to spine head. The original and unclipped dust jacket has a little rubbing to edges with some abrasion to spine head; a touch of fading to spine panel. Smileys People: First edition, first impression (Hodder and Stoughton, 1980). Signed by the author to an adhesive bookplate loosely laid in. Trivial traces of bumping to spine ends with a touch of faint spotting to top edge, else fine. Boards and spine in excellent condition with trivial traces of isolated rubbing here and there and a very minor knock to top corner of lower board. Contents lovely and clean. The original and unrestored dust jacket has been price-clipped with some chipping and rubbing to extremities, mainly to head and foot of spine panel; closed tear to head of upper panel with very mild traces of soiling to lower panel and spine panel. A very good example indeed and uncommon in the dust jacket.
