Original black cloth with lettering to spine in gilt. Some toning to edges, more heavily to top edge with minor dog-earing to bottom corner of a few pages and a few spots to fore-edge of front endpaper.
The original and unclipped dust jacket has a touch of yellowing to top edge of upper panel and a few spots to the verso, else near fine.

Limited edition (Crediton: Richard Gilbertson, 1967). Signed by Ted Hughes to the front endpaper. One of 100 copies produced. 1-6 were interleaved throughout with blank paper, on which the poet wrote out each of the thirteen poems in full, to face the printed text and were also bound in full dark green levant morocco gilt by Sangorski & Sutcliffe. 7-16 were interleaved with three manuscript poems and bound in half morocco gilt by Sangorski & Sutcliffe. 17-36 contained one poem in manuscript and were bound in decorative covers. The example on offer here is one of the 37-100 copies that were signed by the author.
Original salmon fur-grained covers with lettering to the upper cover in black. Faint marginal soiling to spine with minor wrinkling here and there; top edge of upper cover and opening few pages turned up slightly; area of minor staining to lower cover with a little colour transfer to fore-edge of rear endpaper, contents nice and clean otherwise and firmly bound. A very good example of a rare book.

The original and unclipped dust jacket has a little faint soiling to rear panel and toning to spine panel verso, near fine otherwise. An excellent copy.

Minor spine slant with some mild rolling to spine ends; gift inscription to front endpaper dated 1934; mild scattered foxing to edges; contents very nice and clean, except for a touch of very faint and occasional spotting to first and last few pages. Very good indeed.
The dust jacket has a significant amount of loss to spine ends and to lower panel with several small nicks and tears; occasional abrasion to edges and to fore-edge of upper panel; some discreet tape reinforcements to verso.
