Atonement - Signed First Edition

Atonement

By Ian McEwan

First edition, first impression: London: Jonathan Cape, 2001. Signed by the author to the title page.

Octavo. Original black cloth, spine lettered in silver. With the original photographic dust jacket, designed with a black-and-white image of a seated child on stone steps, titles in red and white; price £16.99 printed at foot of upper flap.

The book is in excellent, fine condition: the cloth clean and unfaded, the text block fresh with only the slightest natural toning to the edges. Internally crisp and unmarked.

The dust jacket is bright and well preserved with just the slightest trace of wear to spine head; no tears or loss, and not price-clipped. A fine example.

Atonement is widely regarded as Ian McEwan’s masterpiece and one of the defining British novels of the turn of the millennium, shortlisted for the Booker Prize and winner of the W. H. Smith Literary Award.
