Firestarter - First UK Edition by Stephen King

Firestarter

By Stephen King

First UK edition, first impression - this UK edition follows the American first (Phantasia Press's signed limited of 725 copies plus 26 lettered deluxe copies, and the Viking trade first), both issued earlier in 1980.

Octavo. Original black cloth. Spine lettered in gilt; unclipped dust jacket priced £6.50 net, UK only.

A near fine copy: a small knock to the bottom corner of the boards and some toning to the page edges, otherwise bright and square.

The dust jacket, also unclipped and with the price intact, is near fine, with light wear to the top edge and a little toning along the verso of the top edge.

Firestarter was King's sixth novel published under his own name, following Carrie, 'Salem's Lot, The Shining, Night Shift, The Stand, and The Dead Zone. It was adapted for film in 1984. The UK first print run is generally thought to have been considerably smaller than Viking's American run of 100,000 - possibly in the low thousands, though no figure has ever been verified.
