Now We Are Six - Signed Limited Edition by A. A. Milne

Now We Are Six

By A. A. Milne

Fiftieth anniversary edition, limited issue, signed by Christopher Milne: London: Methuen Children's Books, 1977.

Octavo. Original maroon morocco, spine and covers lettered and illustrated in gilt, illustrated endpapers printed in white, all edges gilt. Limitation correction slip signed by C. H. Shirley, M. A. Malin, and John M. Clay loosely inserted. Housed in the publisher’s matching maroon card slipcase.

A fine copy, the binding square and firm with vibrant gilt and only a hint of rubbing to the top edge of the boards and the rear hinge, as noted; the contents are internally pristine, remaining remarkably crisp and clean.

The slipcase shows one or two isolated traces of rubbing, else near fine.

The 50th anniversary limited edition of Milne's second classic volume of children's verse, number 151 of 300 copies signed by Christopher Milne. Though the printed title-page verso incorrectly states a limitation of 490 copies, this was formally amended by the publisher's erratum slip.

First published in 1927, Now We Are Six features some of the most celebrated poems in the Pooh canon—including Sneezles and Us Two—cementing the global cultural impact of Winnie-the-Pooh, Christopher Robin, and E. H. Shepard's immortal illustrations.
