Schindler's Ark
Schindler's Ark
By Thomas Keneally
First edition, first impression, signed and dated by the author to the title page in the year of publication: "Best wishes Tom Keneally 1982". Winner of the 1982 Booker Prize and the basis for Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List (1993), one of the defining works of late twentieth-century Holocaust representation.
Octavo. Publisher's black cloth, spine lettered in gilt; white endpapers. In the original dust jacket designed by Steve and Julie Ridgeway, publisher's £7.95 price sticker to bottom corner of upper flap.
Jacket bright and clean with only the faintest wear to extremities; extremely minimal, if any, fading and free from chips, or tears; price unclipped. Cloth exceptionally clean; spine gilt with a hint of rubbing; corners sharp. A little spotting to top edge and one or two isolated spots to fore-edge; bottom edge clean. Internally fresh and unmarked apart from the author's contemporary signature. Square, tight binding. Near fine, in a near fine dust jacket.
A superior example, much cleaner and sharper than commonly encountered.
