The Green Hills of Earth - First UK Edition by Robert A. Heinlein

The Green Hills of Earth

By Robert A. Heinlein

First UK edition, first impression: London: Sidgwick and Jackson, 1954.

Octavo. Original green variant cloth, spine lettered in gilt. With the original pictorial dust jacket designed by Gerard Quinn, priced 9s. 6d. net to the lower corner of the front flap.

The binding bright and firm, with a small area of sunning at the head of the spine and a few faint marks to the upper board; edges of the text block lightly toned otherwise internally clean and well-preserved. A very good copy.

The dust jacket, similarly, very good, with chipping to the corners and spine ends, a few small nicks to the edges and spine, and neat associated tape repairs to the verso; the colours remain notably fresh, the striking, surrealist artwork still presenting attractively.

A cornerstone collection in Heinlein’s Future History sequence, including the celebrated title story of Rhysling, the blind singer of the spaceways. First editions in the evocative Quinn-designed jacket are uncommon in collectible condition.
