All first edition issue points present: "elgble" on page 19 line 6; "chair" on page 209, line 23; "counsinship" on page 275 line 22. Rubbing to boards, extremities and spine; unobtrusive previous owner and retailer labels to front pastedown; contents are very nice and clean save for some marginal browning here and there and quite isolated instances of foxing; corners of a few pages a little creased. A very good copy overall in contemporary binding.

A near fine book with a hint of pushing to spine foot and a knock to bottom edge and fore-edge of upper board; some toning to edges; both boards and contents are very nice and clean and free from any writing, marks or inscriptions. The original and unclipped dust jacket has some fading to the spine panel with moderate edge wear to spine ends; very small area of abrasion to upper panel fore-edge. A better than very good copy.

Some offsetting to endpapers; edges a little rubbed with light marking to lower board and mild toning to edges; '.50' written in red biro at top corner of front endpaper, contents very nice and clean otherwise. The original and unclipped dust jacket seems to have some minor and discreet restoration work to spine head and corners; some instances of rubbing to upper panel; a couple of repaired small tears to top edge and very small blue biro inscription to reverse corner of front flap. A very good copy overall or better.

An excellent example of a novel considered by some to be among the greatest American Novels.
