Original green cloth, covers and spine richly blocked in gilt to an all-over Art Nouveau design by Laurence Housman, all edges gilt. Illustrated throughout with full-page plates, vignettes, and an elaborate pictorial title by Housman.

A bright, attractive copy. Gilt decoration exceptionally strong; light rubbing to extremities and a touch of wear to spine tips. Moderately browning to endpapers, as commonly encountered, with some spotting to opening and final couple of leaves ; contents and text otherwise nice and clean throughout. Binding sound and secure. Contemporary ownership name and date to front free endpaper. A near fine copy of a highly desirable edition.
