A Thin Ghost and Others
By M. R. James
First edition, first impression (London: Edward Arnold, 1919).
Publisher's original dark grey cloth with light grey lettering to spine and spider's web motif, title and author's name in grey to upper board. Owner's name in ink to title page with light browning to endpapers and half-title; mild bumping and rubbing to corners and extremities; top edge a little darkened; some minor cracking to binding at page 16, but all pages still holding firm.
A very good copy indeed of the author's scarce third collection of ghost stories.

The Wings of the Morning
By Edward S Hyams
First edition, first impression (Duckworth, 1939). Signed and inscribed by the author to front endpaper. The author's first novel.
Publisher's original cloth with red lettering to spine. Some soiling and light browning to boards with some spotting to fore-edge and to opening and final couple of pages. Contents nice and clean otherwise. The original and unclipped dust jacket has some loss to upper panel and to spine panel head with a few tears, some chipping and rubbing; light soiling to lower panel.
A very rare book, especially so inscribed by the author.

First edition, first impression (Jonathan Cape, 1963).
Publisher's original black cloth with lettering to spine in gilt. A little spotting to top edge, but a lovely and clean near fine book otherwise, in a near fine and unclipped dust jacket with just a hint of rubbing in places to extremities and a little toning to spine panel.
An excellent example.
