Signed, inscribed and dated by the author to the front endpaper in the year of publication: "To Dave - Be well, Stephen King 5/14/83". A promotional flyer for the event where the book was signed is loosely laid in. The recipient, David Baldock, worked for Forbidden Planet in London for a number of years and was well-known to author's that attended book launches there during the 1970s until the early 1990s. Original black cloth with lettering to spine in gilt. Small area of compression to spine foot, else fine, in the fine, original and unclipped dust jacket with a tiny abraded spot to spine head. A beautifully preserved copy with additional provenance. Unique with such attributes.

The price-clipped dust jacket has some moderate edge wear and fading to spine panel with a minuscule nick to bottom edge and some spotting to verso, primarily to top edge, else very good. A rare edition.

The original and unclipped dust jacket, with correct $18.95 price and '02182587' code to upper flap, shows some of the usual fading to the lettering on the spine, but is otherwise near fine.
