Limited edition (Crediton: Richard Gilbertson, 1967). Signed by Ted Hughes to the front endpaper. One of 100 copies produced. 1-6 were interleaved throughout with blank paper, on which the poet wrote out each of the thirteen poems in full, to face the printed text and were also bound in full dark green levant morocco gilt by Sangorski & Sutcliffe. 7-16 were interleaved with three manuscript poems and bound in half morocco gilt by Sangorski & Sutcliffe. 17-36 contained one poem in manuscript and were bound in decorative covers. The example on offer here is one of the 37-100 copies that were signed by the author.
Original salmon fur-grained covers with lettering to the upper cover in black. Faint marginal soiling to spine with minor wrinkling here and there; top edge of upper cover and opening few pages turned up slightly; area of minor staining to lower cover with a little colour transfer to fore-edge of rear endpaper, contents nice and clean otherwise and firmly bound. A very good example of a rare book.

Volume I:
A near fine book with some spotting to edges and free from any bookplates, previous owner names and inscriptions in a very good or better unclipped dust jacket with a little spotting to verso, minor edge wear and some lifting to laminate on upper panel hinge.
Volume II:
A very good book with some spotting to edges and just a hint of mild and marginal discolouration to boards, but free from and bookplates, previous owner names and inscriptions. The original and unclipped dust jacket is also very good with minor edge wear and a couple of small nicks to edges.
Volume III:
A near fine book with some spotting to edges. Free from any internal marks, bookplates, previous owner names and inscriptions, The original and unclipped dust jacket has some areas lifting to laminate on upper and lower panel hinges, but laminate remains completely intact and unbroken. A touch of rubbing to spine foot and spotting to lower panel fore-edge, near fine otherwise.
A very good set indeed.

A limited edition published simultaneously with the first trade edition and consisting of only 100 numbered copies to be signed by the author, of which this is number 22. Joint winner of the 2019 Booker Prize and the sequel to 'The Handmaid's Tale'.
The book is swiss bound in green and white cloth with navy blue endpapers and sprayed green edges with the book title together with the author's name debossed on the upper board.
The book is housed in a navy blue cloth clamshell case with a magnetic catch, contains a navy blue ribbon to facilitate removal of the book, and features marbled top and bottom edges and interior.
A very attractive production in fine condition and in its original box, which is also in excellent condition.
