By Stephen King
UK First Edition, First Printing (New English Library, 1976). Signed and inscribed by the author to the the title page: ‘For Dave, Remember: they only come out at night. Stephen King 5/14/83’. Very rare title, of which signed and inscribed copies in such fine condition are very scarce. Fine in a fine dust jacket.
By Thomas Pynchon
First Edition, First Impression (Viking, 1973). Winner of the 1974 National Book Award and one of 4,000 copies in hardcover. First Issue dust jacket with the ISBN lettered in white over red on the rear panel and publishers date code '0273' on lower front flap. Couple of minor bumps and a little rubbing to corners of boards, contents pristine. Price-clipped dust jacket has a few soft creases and a little abrasion to top corner of rear panel. An excellent example of a novel considered by some to be among the greatest American Novels.
Now We Are Six
By A A Milne
First Deluxe Edition (Methuen & Co, 1927). Illustrations by E. H. Shepard.
Ink gift inscription to front endpaper (dated 1928), green silk ribbon marker, all edges gilt, original green limp leather gilt, occasional light rubbing and marking to covers, spine slightly faded; browning to half-title. Very good indeed.
By Stephen King
UK First Edition, First Impression (New English Library 1977 with the code 'R49' present on page 447). The print run for the US First Edition was 25,000 and, given the low print runs of the UK editions of 'Carrie' and 'The Stand', which consisted of just 500 and 1000 copies respectively, the UK First Edition of 'The Shining' is likely to be considerably rarer than that of the US. Small bump to top of spine; edges toned and lightly foxed; a little off-setting to front endpaper and front board slightly bowed at the bottom. Original and unclipped dust jacket has some rubbing, chipping and wear to the top with a stain to the inside, and is now protected in a high-quality archival cover. A good copy of a contemporary classic.
Nuns and Soldiers
By Iris Murdoch
