The original dust jacket is price-clipped with the publisher's reprice sticker to the top corner of upper flap and some spotting to verso. Spine panel lettering very slightly faded. A very good or better example of an uncommon edition of the author's second published novel.

Winner of the 1982 Booker Prize and the basis for Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List (1993), one of the defining works of late twentieth-century Holocaust representation. Octavo. Publisher's black cloth, spine lettered in gilt; white endpapers. In the original dust jacket designed by Steve and Julie Ridgeway, publisher's £7.95 price sticker to bottom corner of upper flap. Jacket bright and clean with only the faintest wear to extremities; extremely minimal, if any, fading and free from chips, or tears; price unclipped. Cloth exceptionally clean; spine gilt with a hint of rubbing; corners sharp. A little spotting to top edge and one or two isolated spots to fore-edge; bottom edge clean. Internally fresh and unmarked apart from the author's contemporary signature. Square, tight binding. Near fine, in a near fine dust jacket. A superior example, much cleaner and sharper than commonly encountered.

    Star Wars: From the Adventures of Luke Skywalker By Alan Dean Foster (Credited to George Lucas) First edition, first impression. Signed and dedicated to the title page by ghostwriter, Alan Dean Foster, author of a number of movie novelisations including 'Alien' and 'Star Trek' before eventually returning to the 'Star Wars' franchise to write 'The Force Awakens' in 2015. Star Wars: From the Adventures of Luke Skywalker, a novelization of the 1977 film Star Wars, was published months before the film’s release. Credited to George Lucas, this book provides a detailed backstory, including references to Palpatine’s rise to power, which would later be explored in subsequent films. In later years, the book was retitled Star Wars: A New Hope to align with the subsequent addition of the film’s subtitle in 1981. A very good or better copy with some reading wear to hinge of upper cover with a fairly inconspicuous tape repair to bottom corner, some mild rubbing in places and a couple of creases.

The original dust jacket, featuring artwork by Lowen, has been neatly price-clipped and has a closed tear to the top edge of lower panel with an associated tape repair to verso. Red lettering to spine very slightly faded with some faint spotting to verso. An excellent copy of this science fiction horror classic.
